Most of the times it's a real privilege having artists come playing in our offices. A few of these times it's a real blessing. And with Glen Hansard it's always this way. It's not the first time we have him playing for our cameras: check out the wonderful version of Springsteen's "Drive all night" he did for us, with the Swell Season three years ago. These time we made him stop in our newsroom: he was playing in Milan in a venue right across the street. We made him sneak through a secondary door to avoid the fans and then we walked him in the offices. We challenged him to play another cover, Pearl Jam's "Wishlist". He asked us the lyrics, went through the song a couple of times, and then nailed it. Check it out.
"Do you want me to sing another one?" There wasn't enough time, unfortunately, so he had to go back the venue. He asked us for the printed lyric of Pearl Jam's song: "Maybe I'll play it tonight". And he did it. Truly a blessing.
