Listen to a new song by The Replacements
As already reported, the band decided to get back together to raise money to help former guitarist Slim Dunlap, who was hospitalized after suffering a stroke in February 2012; Dunlap, unfortunately, is partially paralysed right now.
The five-song ep, titled "Songs for Slim", has initially been pressed in 250 ultra-limited edition autographed copies on 10" vinyl; all the records were auctioned off in January, raising over $100,000 to help Dunlap with medical bills - the highest bidder paid $10,000 for a copy!
Now "Songs for Slim" is set to be out digitally on March 5, as well - on 12" vinyl - on April 16 via New West Records.
You can listen to one of the five songs - a cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "I'm Not Sayin" - via Pitchfork at this address: pitchfork.com/news/49711-listen-to-a-new-track-from-the-replacements
