'Mistaken for Strangers': a new documentary on The National
The new film is directed by the band's frontman brother Tom Berninger; titled "Mistaken for Strangers", it follows the band on their huge tour for 2010's "High Violet", chronicling Tom Berninger's personal journey of touring with his brother.
The director described his work with these words: "When my brother asked me along on tour as a roadie, I thought I might as well bring a camera to film the experience. What started as a pretty modest tour documentary has, over the last two and a half years, grown into something much more personal, and hopefully more entertaining".
The Documentary is set to première during New York City's Tribeca Film Festival on April 17, followed by a special performance by the National, who are releasing a new (and still untitled) album this May.
