Faulty Product
We've become afflicted by this new type of disease
Where we strive and we strive, but our hearts still deplete
We're consuming to attain an image that man has conceived
But does it really make us feel complete?
Because a bar has been set, an impossible ideal
So why should we reach for what isn't real?
We are not made to be commodities
Left to want what can't be achieved
So why is it that some of us end up deceived?
The cost of cosmetic construction
The price of this so-called 'perfection'
Is this what we call a developed world?
Shame. Shame
Financial gain over people's pain
Shame. Shame
It's clear that we need a change
People are wasting away inside of their heads
When there's so much more than being force fed by
Architects of a self-destructive obsession that
Distort reality and birth depression
We all come with an expiration date
We're just not meant to be a product they make
This repulses me
It's a blatant lie to what needs to be
Do you really want to reach the end of your life
Knowing that you never discarded those lies
That satisfy a superficial and materialistic mind
Materials and possessions, but souls are in regression
And maybe this will be a lesson, learned about this world's 'progression'
Where we strive and we strive, but our hearts still deplete
We're consuming to attain an image that man has conceived
But does it really make us feel complete?
Because a bar has been set, an impossible ideal
So why should we reach for what isn't real?
