Weakened

He stopped working on the weekend
Tries to fix the bond that's weakened
Tries to mend the cut that's bleeding
He rejects the overtime

He won't last another season
Can't quite talk about the reason
Can't quite conjure up the feeling
That could make him feel alright

He's busy sleeping
Away the day and night
Checks his bed
Making sure he's made it right
Shuts the blinds
Closing out those prying eyes

Money made was pretty meager
Not one wanting any leisure
Never coming off as eager
For a different lot in life

He would try to stop and be in
Thoughts that always tried and leave him
Things he never got to see and
All the friends he lost to time

He's busy sleeping
Away the day and night
Checks his bed
Making sure he's made it right
Shuts the blinds
Closing out those prying eyes
