Moving Gaze

Fixing for adventure, I wander out of doors
Into territories where I've never been before
I mirror what I'm given by the miracle of sight
And immortalize the minutes in black and white

The faces tell the stories, I barely do a thing
A simple conversation is Shakespearian
I am but a shadow when I focus in and snap
At sunlight in the smoke of cigarettes

I could have been a mariner or troubadour
The leader of an expedition way up north
I toyed with the idea of outer space
And how without gravity I might stay in place

I fall into a pattern, my feet in sturdy shoes
I'm pulled into the flow of the multitudes
A happy child reaches both arms into the air
Then just around the corner, I find another kind of theatre

There's poetry concealed in every moving gaze
In any interaction there is nothing commonplace
There's sentimental value in the passing of a cup
In forests made of trees that are barely standing up

I could have been a mariner or troubadour
The leader of an expedition way up north
I toyed with the idea of outer space
And how without gravity I might stay in place

I could have been a mariner or troubadour
The leader of an expedition way up north
I toyed with the idea of outer space
And how without gravity I might stay in place

(Without gravity) I might stay in place
(Without gravity) I might stay in place
(Without gravity)
(Without gravity)
Stay in place (without gravity)
Stay in place (without gravity)
(Without gravity)
Stay in place (without gravity)
(Without gravity)
(Without gravity)

I might stay in place
