The Tennessee Farmer
There's a Tennessee farmer
And he lives at the Trace View Farm
An educated man
Who never meant anybody harm
He grew a little cannabis
Gave it all away for free
All for the folks it would help in his community
He worked for the government
Headed up a health outreach
He saw a lot of sick
And the little plant could bring relief
Until a dirty little dealer showed one day
On his front porch step
But the farmer turned him down
Never knowing what would happen next
I'm the morning came the engine
From the chopper in the sky
It stopped hovered over the plants nearby
The black-vested boys
Were pulling up the weed
Now the Tennessee Farmer is a felon
For planting seeds
Now the people of the town
Made a case for the Tennessee man
As a neighbor and a friend
Always offering a helping hand
It's an out-dated law
And it's written in a biased way
But there's power in the people
When you let them have a say
I'm the morning came the engine
From the chopper in the sky
It stopped hovered over the plants nearby
The black-vested boys
Were pulling up the weed
Now the Tennessee Farmer is a felon
For planting seeds
If you know a way to help someone suffering
You'd lend a hand
If you don't know the reason why you won't
Can you try and understand
Like the Tennessee Farmer
On a place called the Trace View Farm
An educated man who never meant
Anybody harm
And he lives at the Trace View Farm
An educated man
Who never meant anybody harm
He grew a little cannabis
Gave it all away for free
All for the folks it would help in his community
