The Ninth

Dear friend, I have come to keep you company in your ninth and final inning
I have waited for so long to introduce myself
Once upon a time I went flying alone far above the trees, some children laughed at me
Didn't I know Liverpool Airport was just around the corner? Oh I am such a loon
My ode to joy is living rightly in the existential truth
You have helped me more than anyone else to see that there's hope for those like us
It is Liberation Day; here's my golden ticket
In your Goldberg Variations I have heard my fair lady of Shalott reach through her glasse
Holding flowers as if we were not cursed too
Our spacious firmament is free from doubt and fear
"Yesterday is not forever." I can still hear her say that when I play your favorite tunes
There is much more on the way now that you have spoken to me, just remember to breathe out
In a box underneath a lamppost, I have arranged a system of strings
The jewel filled sky brings a hard rain every dawn of our little lives
With a cool hand I'll proceed
As I lean on my cane I'll show you what I have been thinking of: The Royal Forest
Down to the brass tacks I have found that there surely is something to this inner music thing
Once you explore it you will find that there is something special about constructing worlds
In a runic alphabet Svanhild peers in on something happening here
The seasons of my life have become like tones of a sacred song, expansive and everlasting
Beautiful eyes glisten with tears sending bliss with ceaseless care
Sown in the stars, you were always there
Mystic deliria has me in a televised performance
Thank you for your trolley songs, unequivocally brilliant
Within your spirits of the sky, I thank the Gods above
Because you surely saved my life
