Apparitions

I hold her hand as she takes her last breath
Gently close her eyes now she's finally at rest
Someone in her family cries let um fall upon my chest
Give a minute of my time for their minutes of distress

Silence on my lips as I fall into a place
where emotions wanna slip you can see it on my face
A moment in the day full of moments of the same
Where the shadows on the wall tell the stories of the grave

The day has just begun and the door will never lock
Some will come in wit a bug some will need to get a shot
Some will simply need a hug others need to sleep it off
Gotta run to trauma one because somebody got shot!

Gave it everything but he wouldn't come around
Hear a Mother scream and I cant forget the sound
When the day is over and I lay my head down
Soon as I close my eyes then the ghosts come around

I'm sorry that I couldn't save you
Now I need someone to save me

See a bus pullin up what's next
Doors fly open and it's looking like a mess
Medics say that it was three stab wounds to the chest
In the end I tell the family that we did our best

Head back in the game next patient on the list
Can't breath lung cancer and it's gaining like a bitch
In a lot of pain and she wants to call it quits
Please let me die today last words on her lips

She don't got somebody who'll be coming to her side
I'm the last person that she'll ever see alive
I pull up a chair and just sit there for some time
Another apparition coming home with me tonight
