Billy the Giraffe

The other day, I was sittin by the water
Mindin my business, drinkin a pina colada
My favorite artist was singing on the radio
And that's when I saw something, I think it was a shadow

This thing came up to me, I saw his really tall neck
That's when he opened his mouth and this is what he said

Hey my name is Billy, will you be my best friend?
I understand that I'm a giraffe and you're human
But I can tell you that I'll never let you go
Just say that we will be together - forever

I never thought, I would see a day like this
Ever since I was a child, I've waited for this bliss
I'd seen every movie, I'd read every book
I had a dozen pictures of giraffes, see look
I didn't even know I'd ever have a chance - to be with one
But now it's almost like fate has said "Hey you've won"
I'm not quite sure if he'll understand
Just how much this means to me
So I looked right at him and this is what I said

Hey there Billy, will you be my best friend?
I understand that you're a giraffe and I'm human
But I can tell you that I'll never let you go
Just say that we will be together - forever

From that moment, we had never split apart
We'd share sundaes, while feeding pigeons in the park
Billy was the best, he helped me pick up chicks
Then we'd all go home together and watch his family on Netflix
