Remind-Me-Wall

Thinking back to another time when my life was mostly theirs
Family busy, hardly any time, what with running everywhere
I fondly think of the way that I would remember all those things
Our old home was the center point, with a remind me wall, it seems

Only notes of things to do and things that shouldn't be forgotten
No order of priority, I just put 'em as I got them
A simple way of keeping track of the many things we'd do
Another note would be put up before another thing was through

A recipe from a magazine or to save a favorite poem
A hastily scribbled message says "call work when you get home"
A post-it note for a doctor date, or taking Bandit to the vet
Notes and cards and messages like, "You haven't picked up Katy yet"

If walls could tell a story, mine would probably say
It earned a place of glory with all the holes and scars that stayed
A thumbtack riddled glossy mess, it was much too late
To save the wall from punctures until those sticky notes were made

A recipe from a magazine or to save a favorite poem
A hastily scribbled message says "call work when you get home"
A post-it note for a doctor date, or taking Bandit to the vet
Notes and cards and messages like, "You haven't picked up Katy yet"

Times have changed and we laugh at how we used to do some of those things
If I had then what I have now, I'd have so much time it seems
I wonder now that we've been away if that wall was still in use
And I laugh at such a funny thought, that'd be a silly thing to do

A recipe from a magazine or to save a favorite poem
A hastily scribbled message says "call work when you get home"
A post-it note for a doctor date, or taking Bandit to the vet
Notes and cards and messages like, "You haven't picked up Katy yet"

A recipe from a magazine or to save a favorite poem
A hastily scribbled message says "call work when you get home"
A post-it note for a doctor date, or taking Bandit to the vet
Notes and cards and messages like, "You haven't picked up Katy yet"

Mmm hmmm pick up Katy, now
Mmm hmmm pick up Katy from school...
Mmm hmmm
