Invincible

Eight years old living on a farm
Kinda young and stupid
I thought no harm would ever come to me
I was invincible
A thirty foot silo is pretty dang high
But with a homemade parachute I thought I could fly
I'd never get hurt I was a walking miracle
My sister yelled you've gone too high
If you jump you're gonna die
I looked down and I counted to three

I let go I had faith

Twenty years old sitting on a log
Along came Jeannie walking her dog
She jumped in the creek with nothing but a teeshirt on
She saw me and turned beet red
I did my best to turn my head

When my kids call up and say dad howd you do it
