Don't Be Afraid

You see the shepherds were outsiders
The castaways
Always the last to know
Always left out of the conversation
But not this time
This time, God wanted them to be
The first to know
He invited them to share the wonder
And the beauty of this moment
And to introduce them to the
King who was promised
When Jesus grew up he would
Spend most of His time with the rejects
The outsiders and the sinners
The Good News is still for everyone
You and me
2,000 years later when experiences and circumstances
Leave us in fear and doubt
Confusion or anger
How are we to respond
Just remember that night
Where the angel said
"Do not be afraid"
