The Good Life

Everybody's got their way of life
Some keep burning oil way past midnight
You're always blowing through the red lights
Never knowing when to stay right
Keep it moving there's no traffic in you lane
With the gas on the ground is the only way down for the fire in your veins
It's easier now to be blocking it out cause the means never end your game
But forget about stopping to figure it out when there's somebody else to blame

Or you can, stare out in the bright lights
And let 'em open up your eyesight
You can't breathe when it's so tight that it closes off your windpipe

You're never staying when you're always on the run
Everybody's always looking back at you when you disappear into the sun
Keep forgetting where the thoughts of your mind have gone
Always losing all the notes where you write em on
Try to keep it all together but it's never any better than it ever was before you're gone
So you say it out loud keep your feet on the ground
Are you playing your hand or you laying it down
But you're think and drinking and stirring deferring the night till it turns to day
Have they read you your rights in the dark of the night
Are you sticking around or you jumping a flight
To the next little town that you'll burn to the ground but we're hoping you'll find your way so

Or you can, stare out in the bright lights
And let 'em open up your eyesight
You can't breathe when it's so tight that it closes off your windpipe
You try living the good life, you see that most of us are alright
Slow down don't you fly by when we're living in the good life

Stare out in the bright lights
And let 'em open up your eyesight
You can't breathe when it's so tight that it closes off your windpipe
You try living the good life, you see that most of us are alright
Slow down don't you fly by when we're living in the good life

So, slow down don't you fly by when we're living in the good life
