Stars

About a month ago a man walked in, he said "I've gotta come clean about where I've been"
He pulled up his shirt and showed me the wound from climbing the stars to steal the light from the moon
You're either casting a shadow or stealing the shade, taking power or giving it away

Because when you go down the road just to see where it goes
Then the sun will surely come, and shine a light on what you've done

He threw down his cards and pointed to death, said "I've been to places I'd rather forget"
"I've been around the world, but now I'm alone except for voices and shadows that followed me home"
"See, I went looking for God to give back what I stole, but heavens a place I cannot know"

Because when you go down the road just to see where it goes
Then the sun will surely come, and shine a light on what you've done
