Tournesol (Sunflower)

Tending a marvelous sunflower
But I see its wilted in the leaves
Autumn is coming to a close now
The roots beginning to freeze
You spent half the year growing
As tall as the evergreens
While I spent most of mine knowing
You were detaching from me

I don't think I'll ever feel again
As I did inside the garden
I felt sheltered in the sun
Like I was where I belong
Well I'm used to being wrong
I'm sick of singing these songs after your gone

And its taken too long
I should be over this
I know I should be over it
Convinced myself I'm over it
But I know somethings changed in me
I can't breath
It's making me start to see

I don't think I'll ever feel again
As I did inside the garden
I felt sheltered in the sun
Like I was where I belong
Well I'm used to being wrong
I'm sick of singing these songs after your gone

Tell myself to just breath for a moment
Remind myself that it's all in my head

You were my sunflower
I see theres wilting in your leaves
Autumn is coming to a close now
We're headed for a deep freeze
