Tony
This is the story of Tony
Tony was a square in a world of polygons and rough edges
And sure enough his world was coming to an end
The great white light had finally fizzled out
Before dipping below the surface
Tony felt an emptiness inside
As the storm above began to grow
Tony was watching the rough seas
How it swelled and splintered, as they tore itself open, growing ever more unforgiving
Beginning to accept his lonely fate, at the edge of his vision he saw another shape
A shape who mirrored his lost, sombre expression
She was a perfect circle, the envy of all other shapes
Yet she seemed to hold the same emptiness he did
Suddenly she turned and looked right at him, and he right at her
In that moment the laws of nature seemed to subside
And they saw two formless creatures living deep inside them
Creatures emanating truth
Free of the restrictions of size or structure
Finding solace in those vast spaces inside them
Their true shapes
Now Tony's mind fell quiet
As a warmth filled the holes in his cuboid heart
She turned away from Tony
Back across the dark waves
"Look out there" she said
"Way out beyond the storm"
And Tony looked
A silver shimmer
Reflected off the black of the sea
Tony was a square in a world of polygons and rough edges
And sure enough his world was coming to an end
The great white light had finally fizzled out
Before dipping below the surface
Tony felt an emptiness inside
As the storm above began to grow
Tony was watching the rough seas
How it swelled and splintered, as they tore itself open, growing ever more unforgiving
Beginning to accept his lonely fate, at the edge of his vision he saw another shape
A shape who mirrored his lost, sombre expression
She was a perfect circle, the envy of all other shapes
Yet she seemed to hold the same emptiness he did
Suddenly she turned and looked right at him, and he right at her
In that moment the laws of nature seemed to subside
And they saw two formless creatures living deep inside them
Creatures emanating truth
Free of the restrictions of size or structure
Finding solace in those vast spaces inside them
Their true shapes
Now Tony's mind fell quiet
As a warmth filled the holes in his cuboid heart
She turned away from Tony
Back across the dark waves
"Look out there" she said
"Way out beyond the storm"
And Tony looked
A silver shimmer
Reflected off the black of the sea
