Waiting for the Bells

You know that I am sorry for everything I did
I've tried so hard for everything instead of simply giving in
The world is like our alcohol, it makes us social and insane
We don't realize we've drank so much til we forget our names
We're all so drunk and we can't even tell
We're just getting plastered waiting for the bells

The school bell rung, the children sing a song of unity
All the while a sarcastic smile that only held meaning to me
I remember the day the kids left to save the world from all this pain
They were fulfilled by charity while I was filled with rage
I guess I'll be the one going to Hell
I'll be burning there still waiting for the bells

The road that i've been taking never wants me to be free
And destiny kills live love but much less gracefully
What we had was like an animal when you forget to lock the cage
You warmly lied on top of me smelling sweetly of champagne
Toss another dime into the well
And we'll lie around here waiting for the bells

Have I ever told you how good it feels to sleep
In this bed, wake up to your eyes peering happily to me
But now this room's a hospital, you're bed's ready with chains
Your happiness is why I come but I can't emulate
Maybe in the morning I'll be well
Strap me down and prep me for the bells

Every man is his own man and every man must die
It's amazing the mistakes it takes to lead a man to cry
But reality cuts through the fog and the reasons to remain
We spend our lives building legacy just to watch it slowly fade
Whole lifetimes spent angering ourselves
Just to hear us getting laughed at by the bells
And we'll lie around here waiting for the bells
