The Life We Live In
Can't tell me I'm the only one who feel like, this ain't real life
Like its more to it than the bullshit and drama
Bitches who inspired by hoes on reality shows, instead of Michelle Obama
Niggas who got potential to be whatever they choose
But instead picked the option to lose, cause it all seemed cool
Back in high school, breaking all the rules
In the back of the class, high as fuck from the fruit
Cause realistically, the shit you see with ya own eyes
Educate you more than the public school system
That's full of teachers who treat the lesson plan like a nine to five
And coach the track team on side for more income
Through the strength of God you can make it through it all
But the public schools against religion
So when you got kids selling drugs and shooting up the halls
How they supposed to know who to pray to and be forgiven, huh
It's sadistic
Unrealistic
Unexplainable
Utter ridiculous
And this the life that we live in
Was we born to be great, or die from the conditions
It's sadistic
Unrealistic
Unexplainable
Utter ridiculous
Is this the life that we live in
Was we born to be great, or die from the conditions
How many people was raised with both parents in the household
How many people only got one parent and the other come around when they feel like appearing
Shit I feel ya
Look, how many people even know who they parents are
How people was raised by streets and O.G.'s
Cause the people who brought you here somehow is gone?
Shit I feel for all of y'all
Half the niggas I know either use to or still sell drugs
That's the only we knew how to make it growing up
Lost count of niggas I knew that's dead
The shit fucks with my head got my lost and stressed
But I'm still blessed, mama got breast cancer but she still here
7 years and counting
Dad had 3 open surgeries and 3 strokes in 48 years of life
He pull through? That un-human like
He still a jerk though, still all love
Ain't spoke to him in weeks, ain't seen him in months
But that's another story
I gotta stay strong that's what they all told me
Feel like I need steroids to keep going
But I'm more Willie Mays than Barry Bonds with my history
It's no worries, whatever happens it was meant for me
So ain't no need to sweat of shit I ain't controlling
I wanna make it so bad it's scares the fuck out me
I ain't been in church in years, I know God ain't happy
But he know I mean no harm I ain't proud of all my actions
Just tryna endure through the world of sin and sadness
So many say they there for me, most of em crabbing
All my ex's was laughing at the dreams I was having
Now the tables shifted
Any success I got now is self inflicted
Young, black, and gifted with the power to put words together
Like Shakespeare shit realer than Othello
Everything fresh but it as easy as it seems
I just take it all in and pour it out on these beats
The jits around my city is dying before they living
Cause these streets real they ain't got no age limit
Even gated communities ain't safe behind bars
Zimmerman shot Trayvon and that bitch ain't catch a charge
Got damn
That shit sadistic
Unrealistic
Unexplainable
Utter ridiculous
And this the life that we live in
Was born to be great or die from the conditions
It's sadistic
Unrealistic
Unexplainable
Utter ridiculous
And this the life that we live in
Was born to be great or die from the conditions
I just wanna live a better life
I just wanna live a better life
I just wanna live a better life
I just wanna live a better life
See the stars they shine
And so will I as soon as I can get around these clouds
Shit's rough, but I'm fine
Cause soon enough I know the better days will come around
Somehow, some way
We gone make it to better days, better days
Somehow, some way
We gone make it to better days, better days
Ramon noodles, chicken flavor
Red Kool-Aid and a tator
Stack of bills, 380 and bottle on the table
Pray for patience, pray for haters
Pray for safety, Pray for family
Man this life we living in, I feel like no one understand me
We ain't waiting on tomorrows change, we tryna change the moment
Ain't waiting for tomorrow, we turning dreams into moments, yeah
Like its more to it than the bullshit and drama
Bitches who inspired by hoes on reality shows, instead of Michelle Obama
