Flowerpicking

I used to gaze at the sun
Rays made it to my skin
The sky was very clear
The tree trunks thin
Fully surrounded now
By the tallest wood
Where I search for direction
Where I search for good

Branches grow, high above my head
When I amble here
Defiance strengthens me
And also is a threat
To find my way
Between the trees

Miles ahead there is an open field
They say the air so blue
But how do I get there?
Left or right?
I'm trying to trust my sight
Too many leaves leave me blind
Deep in the forest land

Branches grow, high above my head
When I amble here
Defiance strengthens me
And also is a threat
To find my way
Between the trees

But it's crowded here
And there are no signs
I'm lost
I thought; 'I gotta get out!'
Still, it's safe in here

Don't want to leave,
Just need some time
To pick more flowers
And let the birds go by

Guilt is playing games with me
I'm hiding behind a big homework tree
I hope someone sees
And guides me

I thought; 'I gotta get out!'
But still, it's safe in here

Don't want to leave
Just need some time
To pick the flowers
And let the birds go by
I like it here
Just need more time
To pick the flowers
And let the birds go by
Don't want to leave
Just need some time
To pick more flowers
And let the birds go by
I like it here
Just need more time
To pick the flowers
And let the birds go by
