There's Nothing Left For Us But To Grow Old

Sixty miles an hour oblivion bound
Getting speeding tickets as I stand still
The destination's there in my line of vision
But I'm trying to go the distance on a treadmill
And see for all our troubles all we get is just another
Day in which to struggle and a night in which to smother
Yeah I've thought of giving up before
But this time I'm almost certain I won't bother anymore
So come along and sing it brother

There's nothing left for us but to grow old now
There's nothing left for us but to grow old
There's nothing left for us but to grow old now
There's nothing left for us but to grow old

No there's nothing for us here
I'm gonna pursue some career
And dither till the end draws near
My requiem is sorted
I don't wanna be morbid
But what is there to achieve when you've done everything that we did?
To hell if no one listens
In my imagination halos glisten
When I lay down a melody
There's nothing else I'd rather see
Than my friends all turning up their system

There's nothing left for us but to grow old now
There's nothing left for us but to grow old
There's nothing left for us but to grow old now
There's nothing left for us but to grow old

Well I know it sounds dramatic
Not that I find it strictly problematic
Shifting gear when life's on automatic
I'm ready for the sleepwalk, ready for the sweet talk
Ready to rest on my laurels pricklier than tree thorns
I'll remember the good times, Marco and Luka dancing in the front line
Rose and Scott just behind them feeling just fine
A headline concert with no groupies and the sunshine

There's nothing left for us but to grow old now
There's nothing left for us but to grow old
There's nothing left for us but to grow old now
There's nothing left for us but to grow old

So there we have it friends, let's all grow old together
Well Vic Galloway won't play us on his radio
But that's not a problem is it?
I mean who needs the BBC anyway?
Oh I forgot to mention Radio Poetry is every other Wednesday
On our Y channel so check it out!
