Like a Kid

I held her hand as she waited to get on the train
Seven more stops and she'd be back at the airport again
She asked if I'd miss her as I went to kiss her I cried
I could have stood there for fifty years and never felt tired

That night we stayed up and we tried to fend off the day
Maybe the sun would explode and the flight would get delayed
Her eyes were shining like lights coming off of the lake
I've always felt like the last horse out of the gate

Don't the wind blow like it did
Don't love make you feel like a kid
Don't the wind blow like it did
Don't love make you feel like a kid

The morning came quickly and took all of our time away
But we'd named our kids and our dog and built a place to stay
She took a few steps and she walked through the turnstile gate
And my eyes they watered and my hands they started to shake

Don't the wind blow like it did
Don't love make you feel like kid
Don't the wind blow like it did
Don't love make you feel like a kid

Don't the wind blow like it did
Don't love make you feel like a kid
Don't the wind blow like it did
Don't love make you feel like a kid
