Judgement Day (Interlude)

One day I was on the bus

I met a junkie who was high off his ass
An old black man, saw me and he asked for some cash
But I ain't have it, he reached for me and opened his hand
I saw a bible then he said to me "this all that I have"

He looked surprised when I spoke to him back, acknowledging his existence
It's kinda troublesome that no one else has
He was drifting, I shook his hand and told him that I'm glad the lord is with him
Somewhere beneath addiction was his wisdom

It made me think about the days when Reagan came and
Drove cocaine in, the neighborhoods where we were staying
And even in the face of it, stumbling and shaking
This man never let go of his faith

I pray that God have mercy on my people at the Gates
Cause in this wicked world it's only so much you can take
They put pressure on your soul and then they judge you when you break
So every night I pray my soul is yours if I don't wake to see another day

In this life we come and go
We mistakes and grow
You lost your way, on judgement day
Who's gone save your soul?

In this life we come and go
We mistakes and grow
I lost my way, on judgement day
Who's gone save my soul?
