Vagabond

An old man stumbles drunkenly
Into the cold, city air
His body feels broken
But he doesn't seem to care
He walks down Payson
He doesn't know where he's turned out
Someone hits and berates him
And all he can do is bawl and shout

And the old man keeps running
From something only he can see
And the bright light of morning
Can't give him a place to be
So he retires to the subway
The only home he's ever known
And he stumbles through the archway
Of his home
