Two Prayers (Father Dear)

Father dear, can You hear
The little ones You gave to me, My children
The world they face is not a friendly place
Protect them there with love, and care, and peace

Let every pain they suffer
Make wide their space for joy
And let them see Heaven will be
Just knowing they have finally come back home

Jesus, it isn't easy living in this world
Part of the time I feel as if I don't belong here
Like a stranger in a foreign country
When I talk about You, people act like they don't understand my language
They look at me and listen
But their eyes tell me they don't comprehend

Lord, sometimes I am so surrounded and saturated by the values of this world
That I almost become used to them
It scares me to know I could lose hold on eternity and not even notice

Lord, give us the strength to keep tearing at the cords that hold us and choke us
Help us to hear You, see You, really know You

Father, it helps me to know that I am not alone
When we feel so helpless, help us to remember that Your love is not fragile
Your love is powerful, it changes things
No matter what we face today, Your love is greater

And let them see, heaven will be
Just knowing they have finally come back home
