One Day at a Time

I've got pressures in life and bills to pay
And I really don't feel like doing much today
And getting out of bed seems harder than ever before
There've been a number of times I've let myself down
But I always find a way to get off the ground
And lately, Uncle Sam's knockin' harder on my door
I may have made a bad decision or two
Bad decisions were made for experience too
I've come all this way, I think I'll be okay

I'll take it one day at a time
Step by step I know I'll find
Who I really am
Facing life again, one day at a time

It seems more like a habit as time passes by
I hear the words my old man would cry
Save for a rainy day or there'll be hell to pay
I've had hundred dollar bills in my bill fold
Not a worry in the world twenty-eight years old
Two dogs, a house, and all the toys, ain't no cloudy days
Never lend a lot of money to a friend if you do
Then prepare to lose a friend and your money too
No one said Life's fair, for even those who care

I'll take it one day at a time
Step by step I know I'll find
Who I really am
Facing life again, one day at a time
