House a Home

Dads shoes piled by the front door
The smell of mums cooking in the air
And on the porch my old bike
Slowly rusts away

Open up the door, grandmas clock chimes
Smile cause I know it means I'm home
Memories fill these walls I can feel them talk
Just like it's yesterday

We laughed more than we cried
When we failed we never stopped trying
Together our love built our story in to every room
It's the simple little things like that
Makes this house a home

I run my fingers cross the old wood piano
Where my sister and me use to play
We'd fill this house with music
Everyone would sing along

In my bedroom, my stories on the door frame
In different colours marked the ages as we grew
Every sight and sound feels familiar even now
Just like it's yesterday

We laughed more than we cried
When we failed we never stopped trying
Together our love built our story in to every room
It's the simple little things like that
Makes this house a home

It's the hug that greets you at the door
Your clothes are washed before they hit the floor
It's the blanket on the couch that doesn't match
And the home cooked meals we share
Our love runs deeper than that

We laughed more than we cried
When we failed we never stopped trying
Together our love built our story in to every room
We laughed more than we cried
When we failed we never stopped trying
Together our love built our story in to every room
It's the simple little things like that
It's the simple little things like that
Makes this house a home
House a home
