Acceptance

The untimely loss of thought
Leaves the spite atop
So many things fall
Unto their bitter end

They talk, they speak
They needn't breathe
So tired of seeing all the souls as they leave

And as your spirit takes
It's place in center stage
Their glowing eyes replace
The light that once made your heartbeat race

You feel so far away
Like you've been lead astray
Far from home again
The rain here doesn't end

And
Even though the stories they told
Couldn't quite push through the narrow
Soul, bright so, so very broken

And as sincerity fails
The lone soul prevails
The realization rises anew
Soon

The second your body's found
Your soul will leave the ground
Up it goes through the valley of the unknown

Something's flickering
Something's shimmering
Writhing in the ocean just beneath the sunset's light

And orange hues reflect
The life once had and the life now left
Then something seems to breathe
In your own breaths

You see the light return to your eyes
And your vision begins to blur

Sometimes it feels like there's no-one here to hear
Until you realize they're ever so near
