Class Of 2021
It's been a while,
Throughout highschool, had ups and downs.
This is my reflection.
2021, June, 12th, the day of graduation,
The day, I realized, most friends, I made were only phases,
Late that night, I'm on my bed, got me contemplating,
Like how come I ain't chilling at nobody's celebrations?
Watching snapchats, while on my phone,
Prolly should get back, to things, that I was doing before,
But I can't distract, my thoughts, from floating off in a zone,
Time went that fast, it's crazy, with the pace life goes,
Quarantine, was like a time machine, the way that it went,
One day I'm walking out my class for a three week trip,
The next, walking down the field, at my graduation,
With the masks on faces, school's come to an end,
Freshmen year, I'm walking in,
I'm tryna boost my confidence,
So I can stop my awkwardness,
And maybe get more popular,
I should've focused more on quality, over the quantitive,
It's cool, to know a lot, but what's the point if they goin' all forget...
...Who you are, once you're gone,
So tell me, where I went wrong?
Realized, that making friends,
Ain't the same as forming bonds,
So tell me, where I went wrong?
Realized, that making friends,
Ain't the same as forming bonds,
Used to walk thru school, afraid of who was finna judge me,
Used to feel cool, because I let the rules cuff me,
But I learned to do my thing, let 'em say it sounds corny,
Why put effort impressing people that don't do nothing for me?
They just,
Flow with the wave, they going the same,
If you try and go for a change, they pose you a lame,
Rather be alone my lane, then close with the fakes,
I done seen, bros turn to snakes, I'm over those things,
Everybody changed from when they started in school,
Some join apart of a group, while some depart from the crew,
Others peaked throughout it, some of 'em, went farther and grew,
Some girls hated on my rap, but turned to gardening tools,
At the end the day man,
Learned what it meant to be patient,
Need to always stay consistent, don't give in to temptations,
We all doing our thing,
Why waste energy, hating?
From here on out, we're only gonna be progressively changing
