Airplane

It's that bathroom light
On the airplanes again
Where you stare through the mirror
While you're washing your hands
And the person you see
Seem like a long-lost friend
You have tried to avoid

You could move to the coast
You could fly there right now
You could go tell the pilot
Just to make a new route
Tell him you can't explain it
And you don't know how
To leave behind what you feel
So you just shut your mouth

You walk back to the seat
By the one man that snores
And each time he wakes up
He screams, "please help me, Lord"
And his skin smell like whiskey
You're his shoulder to cry on
You're the one he adores

There's a sound from the cockpit
Like a heavenly voice
It's saying, "your time has come"
We are crashing for sure
There's no flashing of light
There's no echoing void
Calling out like you hoped
When you laid on your coat
And imagined yourself
As a angry boy
On those dead leaves you found
Crunching under your back
Time has come
Time is now
It's your time
And then the plane lands just right
