Patience & Time

See the trees growing old
Sense their roots digging the ground
Able to feel the heat or cold
Sailing through time, pouring no sound

How many times will they stand still
They'll be drowned, in faint silences

Those fading lights they signify
Sleeping tides about to rise
In the breeze there is the sign
Winds have changed and will blow high

How could we stop the breaching waves
Through the flood, none would remain

All trees are gone, none in my sight
In our towns, only the wild
Flown away the dreaming child
Now have come the shades of night

What could be done when life is harmed
We will need patience and time
