Real Love - Commentary
I hope you're enjoying the Tyler Rich "Two Thousand Miles" album release special
You stream this album, download it, pick up a physical copy
And earlier you mentioned the song that you said we'll talk about it in the future
Because we were talking about "Still Love You"
And you said that it was the complete opposite of this next song, "Real Love"
So, tell people what "Real Love" is about
"Real Love", we wrote at the end of 2018
I was engaged and just finally starting to think of the idea of planning the wedding
Lindsay, my producer and co-writer is married and Andy was about to get engaged
And we were talking about just the rat-race of love
And just the chaos of what we go through trying to find the person
And it becomes more a rat race and becomes more chaotic the more you try to find it
And the second you do, you know
So many people waste so much time trying to figure out
"Is this right, is this the one, is this the one"
And it's clear as day that you know right away
And we wrote it about that
It's just a simple love song about getting through all the crap to get to the one
And some people have to go through a lot of crap to meet the one
And I know we've been talking a lot about Sabina, but
A lot of these songs were inspired by her
So I'm curious! I know that when you met Sabina
You at the time thought that you were just done, your heart was close
No, thanks!
But you met her, you realized that she was everything you didn't know you wanted
And that you were looking for, but not really looking
So what was it about her that made you realize pretty quickly that she was the one?
She was the first person I could truly have fun with
She was instantly my best friend!
From music festivals to traveling, she was the person I wanted to spend all my time with
Yet we both wanted to do the same things
And I had so much freedom
To this day, there's not a single time that I say hey, I'm gonna go on this trip with my guys
Trips, vacations places, just me and the guys
Hey, I'm gonna go do this for a few days, is that cool?
And like the answer is always like, why would it not be cool? Of course, it's cool
But obviously unless there's like scheduling conflicts
But there's just never been a time where like - in all of those guys - all my friends could be single
I could be around five handsome men of my friends that are chasing girls a whole trip
And she will FaceTime me and want in on the scoop
She'll be like, oh yeah? Who's he with? Show me, I wanna meet him
You know, like she's just fun and she's just real and authentic
And it was just like this whole me always wanting to talk to her
And yeah, it was just all the perfect pieces
Well, isn't that sweet?
This is the song, it's "Real Love" and it's the exact opposite of "Still Love You"
Which you heard earlier from Tyler Rich
