The Moon

I look at the moon
Oh, how it glows
Always too soon
With the morning it goes
It goes from me to you

We're so far apart
My sunset your sunrise could be the same time
So, I got this idea
To write a few rhymes

So, I told the moon
To listen close
For I had a request
And I needed her to play along
I told her to sing my song to you

And I went back to sleep
My mouth filled with letters
My hands filled with chords
And the moon was practicing too

And as the morning comes
I think that I could've done better
Maybe the moon is too busy
Should've written a letter
But it's too late
The lyrics ain't great
But I thought the melody was okay
Now I have to wait

And night fell again
Tried to find the moon but it wore its cloudy disguise
And then came the rain
It's hard to find answers from a crying sky
So, I'm just asking you

Did you get my song
Or did it get lost
Did you sing along
I would like that the most
Will you say so long
But first and foremost
Will you send a song to me
