Redwoods

I say goodbye as I drive across the bridge
I let my phone die to let my words blow in the wind
By the end of the night I'll be as high as the Redwoods
By the end of the week I'll be walking through dogwoods

I know now that things never really change
But I know now that things never stay the same

Hit my head like ice cold water
Driving to the airport with my dog and my father
Screaming off the cliff that I'll miss this
Jumpin of the ledge past past lives partners
Livin on the edge as the night gets darker
Screaming out the window I'll miss this
But maybe I won't

Skippin pebbles just to watch the water roll
Reminiscing of the people that I used to know
My heads in the clouds but my eyes are in a daze
Here we all are just sitting counting the days

I know now the way time goes crawling by
The way these shadows dance
I'm so lonesome I could cry

Hit my head like ice cold water
Driving to the airport with my dog and my father
Screaming off the cliff that I'll miss this
Jumpin of the ledge past past lives partners
Livin on the edge as the night gets darker
Screaming out the window I'll miss this
But maybe I won't
