Ode to Fast Food (At the Bottom of the Bag)
I drive through the drive-thru, I want to get myself some food
They say, "Your total today is 10 dollars 82"
"Just pull on forward, pull right up to the second window"
So I put my car in drive and start drivin' to that window
And I wait
I am still waiting
I'm tired of waiting, it's been
ten minutes, I start to drive away
But then I remember, I remember I've already paid
So I just keep sitting in my awkwardly silent car
But thankfully the car in front of me soon shifts out of park
So I pull up to that second window right then
And I get my bag of food, can't wait to dig right in
Ooh, ooh
I'm headed out of the parking lot now
Ooh, ooh
I'm ready to scarf down this chow
I'm on my way home now, got my radio blarin'
And those fries smell so good that I gotta start samplin'
So I reach over for my packet of ranch
But unfortunately it is quite the stretch
And I'm over the road's line, I'm on the other side
And my ranch is all over me, like I'm somethin' fried
And I hear a horn blarin', comin' from behind
So with my ranch covered hands, I get back on my side of the road and
The driver behind me's looking angry, and they start to pass me by
And I make eye contact with them, and I'm feelin' super shy
'cuz I don't know who it is, but I notice as they pass me
That they've got a big fluffy dog, a big fluffy dog, a big dog in the backseat
I excitedly say, "Hi dog!"
The dog doesn't look happy either
And I'm like, "Sorry, dog, didn't mean to disappoint you"
And then they're down the road, and I'm still going home
And so of course then, I start eatin' my food again
And I eat all my fries, I eat all my fries, and I eat all my nuggets
All them glorious golden nuggets, all of 'em
All of my fries too, and that's all I got
And then I am home and my food is not
Ooh, ooh
I'm home now and done with my dinner
Ooh, ooh
I'm feelin' like a first place winner
But now that I'm home, I start to look in my bag
I pull out the trash, throw away that trash
I throw away the trash
But then I see something, I see something inside
the bag that makes my soul fly
Makes my heart weak
Makes my heart very happy
At the bottom of the bag
That's where you lie
At the bottom of the bag
You one soggy fry
At the bottom of the bag
The bag's all grease-stained because of you
At the bottom of the bag
Did you think that I'd forgotten you
At the bottom of the bag
I pick you up
At the bottom of the bag
You give a flop
At the bottom of the bag
We're reunited at last
At the bottom of the bag
Eating you and all your friends has been a blast
They say, "Your total today is 10 dollars 82"
"Just pull on forward, pull right up to the second window"
So I put my car in drive and start drivin' to that window
And I wait
I am still waiting
I'm tired of waiting, it's been
