A Few More Years

Well after five years of working here
They gave me a tie tack
After ten years they gave me a desk clock
And after fifteen years of sweatin' blood I finally got a raise
Just enough to get my skil saw out of hock

They got my money all wrapped up inside a 401K
The boss keeps telling me that I'm over paid
While my house is getting smaller and the kids are getting big
In a few more years I finally made the grade

Well after twenty years I gladly got a window with a view
Twenty five I made the second floor
Now there's a pretty good view of the parking lot
They say I got it made
Then can you tell me why I feel so doggone poor

Now I'm gettin' the feeling they're about to show me out that door
Shake my hand and give me a gold watch
Well after thirty years going up to work from eight to five
You get a pat on the back and a thank you for your life

They got my money all wrapped up inside a 401K
The boss keeps telling me that I'm over paid
And while my house is getting smaller and the kids are getting big
In a few more years I finally made the grade
In a few more years I finally made the grade
