Old magnolia tree
Like a child, you grew from a seed
You blossomed and bloomed
And as I grew, you grew up too

Old magnolia bay
You held in the warmth
Covered me in shade

And even on my darkest day
Gold shined through you, anyway

It flooded your roots
It nurtured you
Challenged you too

Warmed by its rays
