The Carpenter's Son

I've read the stories from the bible
About a man who built things with his hands
His heart was good, this man was special
And for him the Lord he had a plan
God came to him one night in dreams and told him
That he would take his wife and venture forth
That they'd have a child who would change the world forever
And so it came that a carpenter's son was born

Jesus he grew quickly into manhood
He traveled helping people far and wide
He talked and preached about our home in glory
Where if we believed we'd stand there by God's side
But there were forces in the world that meant to stop him
And he was nailed up on a cross and looked upon
But with his dying breath, with mercy he forgave them
And this carpenter's son arose and journeyed home

Now he's building me a mansion up in glory
With his own two hands he's building me a home
To get the key that opens up the door
He just wants me to believe
And have faith and do his will forevermore

Now he's building me a mansion up in glory
With his own two hands he's building me a home
To get the key that opens up the door
He just wants me to believe
And have faith and do his will forevermore
