Snowflakes hover above a corpse in the water
A girl holds it's head down under, but you couldn't fault her
He's the one that brought her here
To the beaches where they hung out in the days of yesteryear
The frigid waters are mixed in with their blood
He's still graspin' the wound of his beloved
Seven holes in his skull, only one left in the chamber
And she looks back to the shore as the flames burn

A decrepit pocket watch still tickin' in the ocean
But it's been years since the hands were frozen
Lungs blackened from the smoke of the flames
By the time this is over, the girl won't remember her name
Or the boy's either, it'll all be a haze
The only reminder will be bits of brain lodged in her golden hair
And the marks from chains on her exposed skin
She thinks back to the car that he proposed in

Now it's set ablaze, soon there'll be nothin' to salvage
And as it burns, with it too does her baggage
In the center of chaos, a moment of serenity
Peaceful whispers of a tasteless memory pass her by with a gentle caress
