Old Winter House

I remember standing here all those years ago
With your hand in mine
Looking up at the sky
As it slowly filled with snow

And the branches bend way above our heads
And cast shadows on the roof
And the frost sets in
But we don't feel a thing
Except memories from our youth

And I know this house has never seen a love like we used to give
If these walls could talk they'd take us back to Christmases we shared
Because it all leads back to where you are
Christmas lights and shining stars

And though the memories change with age
The future still looks the same
I'll always find a piece of you back here

And the garden path has since grown over
And the stone it starts to crack
But the old evergreen is still standing tall
In the garden round the back

As the red and green help to paint the scene
On this Christmas home we made
