Consequence of Choice

I recognize that life is a string of events
Woven together from the fabric of existence
What has been done can never be erased
It won't be long until I've been replaced
We live and we learn
Yet it seems I'm the one who's never learning
I often wonder if I'm destined for failure
Cut from the vine and thrown in the fire
This is it, the final chapter
Farewell to the ones I love
I see now that it's better to move on
Then allow myself to hold onto this grudge
This was harder for me than it was for you
To let go and face the truth
Far too long I've abused Gods grace
And hid behind these disgraceful mistakes
So keep your distance
Forget my existence
Live your lives as if I was never there
I know this is easier said than done
Especially for a man like me
One who is burdened by his own mere existence
But despite how I feel
The truth of the matter remains
Though all is forgiven it shall not be forgotten
I must to let this go
I'll never forget everything we shared
The tears we shed
They weren't for nothing
I only wish the best for you
