Matricide

We have suffered, we have lost
We have paid the highest price, and what did we get in return
But a world already burned to ashes?

Grinding the soot between my teeth
Demeter cannot help but weep
The matricide of industry continues
As the ground collapses out from under me

No imagination
No concept of enough
What will it take for you to see
They're gonna call your bluff
Morally bankrupt
This is a promise, not a threat
The Earth herself will swallow you
As payment for your grievous debt

Those who came before us will not have died in vain
We wear their bones for armor and conquer in their name
One stroke left to fall
They gave us ninety-nine
Called to build a better world
From everything our forebears left behind

Heaven or hell?
Such a binary concept for all of those who lie in between
Life and death, nothing more than a coin flip
One side the wall, one side the guillotine

You brought this on yourself

Matricide
