I Write by Candlelight

ELIZABETH
I write by candlelight, of dreams in my head
I write by candlelight, my dreams of the bed
Then deep into the night
Pen words dare not recite
But when the time is right
One day will be read

In Victor's books, I see Vitruvian Man
He sees the science, I see the beauty of man
I feel my heartbeat pound
And I can hear its sound
For I can now expound
The duty of man

Footsteps at night
Is there something to dread?
The terrors of the night
Is there something ahead?

Rustling in the night
Why must I conjure fright?
Maybe just two unite
With leaves as a bed?

I write by candlelight, of dreams in my head
I write by candlelight, on themes I don't dread
Perhaps impolite
Despite, I take delight
And thus, I write
So I won't think of the dead
