Witch Tree

With warmth of hearth fire
Forgotten and left behind
And cheerful carolers' hymns
Resounding in my head
I heed my virile call

Frigid, fierce winds
Eating through my clothes
Frostbitten hands shaking
As i roam the unwelcoming
Tundra for eternities

The scent of rot mingled with wine
Reaches my craving nostrils
And in the distance i see
Towering, cthonic spires
Piercing the night sky

I peer through the fog
Rising from warm blood
Pooled on frozen soil
At a monolithic trunk
Looming out of the ground
Surrounded by corrupted bodies
Of hive-mind men
Swaying eerily in a strange waltz

Mangled bodies adorn
The mighty boughs
Like revolting ornaments
Enwreathed in the mist
And bathed in sickly light
Of the harvest moon

Slowly, feminine figures
Cut a processional through the mass
Like spectres in a wake
Entering a vulvic hollow
In the base of the tree
Forever to be protected in
Warmth of mother earth's womb
Shielded from lustful predators

I feel myself begin to lose control
My mind edged out
By an unwelcome cacophony
I no longer hear my own thoughts
And i start to sway with the others
A voice screeches through the din
"Mankind trembles
At the might of the witch tree"
