It's Raining Again

It's raining again and I don't know what I expected
We could just drive around all of the streets that were trapped in
And I could write you a song about love gone wrong but I've never felt it
And this town would stay the same if I ever left it

But these are the streets I love
Or at least I think they were supposed to be

I don't wanna kill my time in this town where the city goes to sleep
I wonder if it ever gets tired of being so grey and bleak
And no I'm not inspired by those city lights in the distance
Cause I don't wanna kill my time in the greater city always just on the outside

I talk to my friends, we have the same conversations
About who would still call if they ever got famous
And we've got nowhere to go so we drive the same roads
And wish things were different
But there's no lock on the chains, that tie us to this rhythm

And I don't wanna kill my time in this town where the city goes to sleep
I wonder if it ever gets tired of being so grey and bleak
And no I'm not inspired by those city lights in the distance
Cause I don't wanna kill my time in the greater city always just on the outside

And I love home yeah I love the park and the hills
And the curves that we all slow down for
Even I miss the downpour when it's been too long

But it's raining again and I don't know what I expected
We could could say again all of the things we've been saying
