Mrs Gilhooley and the PiperWoman
Mrs Gilhooley she gave a grand party one night
She invited us all to attend
So we gathered a gang and ran down to her house
A few pleasant hours to spend
There was Duffy and Charlie And Flynn and meself,
A more infident crowd hard ta find
But the t'ing most important we almost forgot
We near' left the a piper behind
We invited her down to the party
She brought her bagpipe just by chance
We asked her to sing, but she said: Ah, no
And she played us a bit of a dance
So she picked up the pipes, and she started to play
Till someone got foolin' about
And they cut a great hole in the bag of her pipe
And this is the tune that came out
When the piper found out that her bag had been cut
Well she made a great leap on the floor
And she slipped all about in a fast hammer style
And she landed her under the jaw
Well, Mrs Gilhooley! she fainted, and they all made a rush
Trying to get out of the door
But the piper had nine of them takin' the count
And she swore she would lick twenty more
We invited her down to the party
She brought her bagpipe just by chance
We asked her to sing, but she said: Ah, no
And she played us a bit of a dance
So she picked up the pipes, and she started to play
Till someone got foolin' about
And they cut a great hole in the bag of her pipe
And this is the tune that came out
So. if ever ya go to a party
Be sure to keep this in your mind
Don't fool about with the piper
And you'll find she's a Gentlewoman kind
But if trouble should start just keep out of her way
For she carries this awful packtoe
And you won't hear it comin' but whoop! when it lands
Sure, you'll find it's an Irish gateau
We invited her down to the party
She brought her bagpipe just by chance
We asked her to sing, but she said: Well, why not!
And she played us a bit of a dance
So she picked up the pipes, and she started to play
Till someone got foolin' about
And they cut a great hole in the bag of her pipe
And this is the tune that came out
