Music Is In Me

Now I know that here I stand
I wanna grow and learn again
'Cause now I know that music is in me
And this love will never end
I just feel like I fell in love again

I've connected with the genes of my ancestral creativity
It means in this state of mind, no negativity
Wanna continue creating new rhymes
And I wanna speak up when I need it sometimes

'Cause quiero transmitir el mensaje oculto en mis barras
Y que sean mis narras las que te agarran como garras
Tienes que saber decir lo que te hace sufrir
Y la mente abrir para vivir

'Cause in this society where we not meant to be
What they want us to be, we have to be able to see
That we're not free, willing to fulfill all what we need
But for the moment, I'll keep it in the beat 'cause

All these years trying to run away from it
Fighting it avoiding it, don't want to have it
But it makes me happy, makes me free
Makes me show the inner me
And all these years trying to run away from it
Fighting it, avoiding it, just had to change how I feel it
And now I know that music is in me

Grew up with good beats beating inner beasts
Wanting to defeat this structured life of mine
'Cause I rhyme all the time to feel free
Like when I climb, being on the top where I drop all the negativity
Focus on my privacy

Anxiety every time I played the piano was compulsory
Studying Chopin while listening to Method Man, Wu-Tang Clan, 50 Cent and Eminem
Feeling out of place every time I listen Vivaldi
'Cause I grew up with the bass and The Marleys
But I had to play Liszt and Mendelssohn
But that song didn't fill me up, it just felt wrong
And as long as they told me music isn't in me

Thought I couldn't be a musician
Though I loved the composition of those times
Back to the '90s with Busta Rhymes
Kendrick Lamar or Nas with those bars
Like Rakim when he sing, and he rap
Do his thing, never cheap like Mobb Deep
TLC, Ice Cube or Nelly with Kelly having a dilemma
NWA with Dr. Dre doing nothing But a "G" Thang
With his gang featured Snoop Doggy Dog
With Nate Dogg, got my influence from Missy Elliot

Got to work it 'til I make it, enjoy The Game
Take it easy, Eazy-E next to Jay-Z, DMX, E-V-E
But still having as biggest influence the
Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 'cause I feel that thing is a deal
'Cause The Score when four for Dr. Dre to be at the door
Next to legends like Biggie or 2pac
Who I wish there were back
'Cause they didn't lack of flow
As I grow and I know looked up to

Chick Corea when he dropped "Now He Sings, Now He Sobs"
Once I entered in this vibe, I knew I liked Herbie Hancock
Whose melodies don't lie and so much more who I stand for

Though I fought against my nature all the time
I would still have the need of rhyme
'Cause I grew up with musicians and I saw those conditions
But when we rise the positions, we accomplish the mission so

Music made me see (music made me see)
That it will always be in me (that it will always be in me)
Music made me see (music made me see)
That it will always be in me (that it will always be in me)
Music made me see (music made me see)
That it will always be in me (that it will always be in me)
Music made me see (music made me see)
That it will always be in me
