Time Traveler

If I could go back to a time
When I could breathe without my lungs
Carried in the breeze

I'm holding my breath anytime I'm alone
Afraid that I'll step on
The wrong stone

But the day gets old and
I feel my skin sag from the bone and
I see my fathers wrinkles start to grow and
The leaves change color
like I do when i'm cold and
I still wish that I could have
Control of it

I've never met death
From the day I was born
I fear the day my loved ones are torn

I don't know how much
Of loss I could take
How many times could I stand at the wake?

And the day gets old and
I feel different from long ago and
I see my brothers short hair start to grow and
The leaves change color
Like I do when I'm cold and
I still wish that I could have
Control of it
