Wouldn't Change a Thing

Too many years before now, I was a twenty something flame
Burning my own way through life, now imprisoned in these frames
I wasn't always spinning, so many of these plates
I had lazy Sunday mornings, I had everything my way

I didn't plan to grow up, thought I was so unique
Now I'm reading bedtime stories, before they fall asleep
I guess life's full of surprises and we play the hand we're dealt
Side stepping through the chaos, another year under this belt

My carefree life has long since gone away
But I wouldn't have it any other way

Cos there's a light on in the window waiting for me to return
A decent roof over my head and some lessons that I've learnt
I've got everything I wanted growing up too fast
Four in a bed on Sunday morning and the goodnight love you dads
It's not easy and it's not without it's pain
But I look back now and wouldn't change a thing

It's taken me this long to learn that nothing's guaranteed
Accepting all the wrong turns and my responsibilities
No I don't talk about it, but I couldn't ask for more
Knowing just what's waiting for me the other side of my front door

My carefree life has long since gone away
But I wouldn't have it any other way

Cos there's a light on in the window waiting for me to return
A decent roof over my head and some lessons that I've learnt
I've got everything I wanted growing up too fast
Four in a bed on Sunday morning and the goodnight love you dads
It's not easy and it's not without it's pain
But I look back now and I wouldn't change a thing

Oh if clocks reversed and I was fist to make a brand new start
What better way to spend my days, than right here in these arms

Cos there's a light on in the window waiting for me to return
A decent roof over my head and some lessons that I've learnt
I've got everything I wanted growing up too fast
Four in a bed on Sunday morning and the goodnight love you dads
It's not easy and it's not without it's pain
No it's not easy and it's not without it's pain
But I look back now and I wouldn't change a thing
