Fountain of Youth
Walked out past the fountain of youth
And passed my life by
Saw me as a child
When I could jump so very high
To the right was my old house
Where I grew up and learned the ways
If I knew then what I know now
I'd probably never miss those days
I remember thinking those days would never end
It seems they went by so fast
Now I miss 'em like a long-lost friend
Those days pass so fast
No matter how I try, I can't make them last
Good friends are like fine wine
They only get better as they age with time
Old stories grow on their own
Before too long, they're so well known
Our life blows like the wind
And those days
Ain't never coming back again
Down the middle of the path
Was where I walked to school
Telling stories of the night before
Thinking we were so cool
To the left, I see the mountain where we climbed
And reached the top
Looking up at the big blue sky
Where the clouds would never stop
I remember Bobby, he was my best friend
Then he moved away so far
And it seemed my youth did end
Those days pass so fast
No matter how I try, I can't make them last
Good friends are like fine wine
They only get better as they age with time
Old stories grow on their own
Before too long, they're so well known
Our life blows like the wind
And those days
Ain't never coming back again
Now I'm older, all grown up
And I've got kids of my own
I look into their eyes
And see the youth I once had known
Once they jumped so high
And nearly touched the stars
Now they look to the future
And realize they've come so far
I remember thinking those days would never end
It seems they went by so fast
Now I miss them like a long-lost friend
Those days pass so fast
No matter how I try, I can't make them last
Good friends are like fine wine
They only get better as they age with time
Old stories grow on their own
Before too long, they're so well known
Our life blows like the wind
And those days
Ain't never coming back again
Walked out past the fountain of youth
And sat to reminisce
I realized today was a day
I soon would miss
And passed my life by
Saw me as a child
When I could jump so very high
To the right was my old house
Where I grew up and learned the ways
If I knew then what I know now
I'd probably never miss those days
I remember thinking those days would never end
It seems they went by so fast
Now I miss 'em like a long-lost friend
Those days pass so fast
No matter how I try, I can't make them last
Good friends are like fine wine
